For Individuals or Couples

Trauma-informed, body-based sex coaching to help you move from shame and disconnection into pleasure, confidence and full erotic aliveness. As a certified somatic sex educator and sexological bodyworker, I offer a hands-on, embodied alternative to traditional sex therapy, with bespoke sessions tailored to your needs, whether you're coming on your own or as a couple.

Navigating sex can feel challenging, especially in a culture built on a paradigm of separation and disembodiment.

Does this sound familiar?

✓ The prospect of sex fills you with anxiety. You get caught in your mind worrying if you’re enough, or if your needs are too much.

✓ Arousal feels challenging. Either you can’t seem to get there without a lot of work, or it feels wildly out of your control.

✓ You experience pain with intercourse or you struggle to connect with internal sensations.

✓ You have no idea what you want or need sexually, you compensate by being a giver, and you end up feeling frustrated and depleted

✓ You know there is a wild and ecstatic being hidden inside of you, and you want to inhabit your body more so you can unleash those experiences

What is Somatic Sexuality Coaching?

Somatic comes from the Greek word “Soma” and describes a concept that we don’t have in English, which is an understanding of body and mind as a continuum, rather than two separate things.

Any kind of somatic work involves bringing attention and awareness into the body, and using direct experience at the foundation of learning.

In Somatic Sexuality Coaching, we approach our sexual growth journey not just from a lens of cognition and theory, but actually cultivating connection with our body and pleasure, practicing nervous system resilience, and developing real time skills to take into the outside world and into our relationships.

How is this different from sex therapy?

Licensed therapists follow strict guidelines that prohibit any form of erotic touch or exploration of arousal between client and therapist — and for good reasons.

Therapy sessions are mostly limited to talk, perhaps with some body awareness practices in more somatically oriented modalities.

This means that processing sexual challenges stays mostly in the realm of cognition.

With my background in Somatic Sex Education and Sexological Bodywork, I hold a different kind of container.

These modalities explicitly allow the exploration of pleasure and arousal during sessions. It’s not required, but it’s there for those who wish to explore it.

Clients can also request to receive touch. All touch is one-way, from practitioner to client, with a strong focus on consent and communication.

What a typical session looks like

We begin with a brief check-in to see what you’re arriving with that day.

Early sessions consist of more education and basic skill building. These are more likely to consist of talk and clothing on activities centered around building confidence with body awareness, nervous system regulation, communication and consent. Practices might included guided meditation, breathwork, movement and working with sensation.

As sessions progress, clients may wish to explore deeper practices such as guided self touch, body mapping, and genital mapping. Couples may be guided in the exploration of one another’s bodies, with the option of being disrobed.

Clients can request to receive touch, which may encompass practices such as pleasure mapping, consent and communication practice, and dearmouring.

Any and all touch is only provided at the client’s request, with the option to withdraw the request at any time.

Client Love

“Seeing Monica has been such an empowering experience. She has helped me to achieve confidence that not only applies to relationships and sex but to everyday life. I am more confident in recognizing what it is that I want and not being afraid to ask for it. I am more present and have been able to turn off my brain and be fully in the moment.”

- Stefanie

“Working with Monica was the biggest gift to my connection with my body, desires and sexuality beyond what I imagined when I signed up to work with her. From our first conversation about consent to having a detailed map of my desires and kinks, I got so much information about myself from our explorations. I learned the vast depth of potential my body had to experience pleasure through all my senses, and no amount of theory could match the real, somatic, body-based self-discovery that Monica's expertise unlocked for me. If you can say yes to this, I strongly recommend it --- it thoroughly transformed my relationship to eros, and to myself. ”

- K.B.

“Working with Monica has truly changed my life. I have not only found sex to be so much more pleasurable but daily activities as well. My confidence has doubled in all aspects of my life and this is the first time I have ever felt whole.”

FAQs

What does a sex coach do?

1

A sex coach helps you work through challenges with desire, arousal, pleasure, intimacy and communication. In somatic sex coaching, we go beyond talking about these things and work directly with the body through breath, awareness, movement and, if you choose, touch.

5

Is a sex coach the same as a sex therapist or sexologist?

2

Where are sessions Held?

No. Sex therapists are licensed mental health professionals who work mainly through talk. As a certified somatic sex educator and sexological bodyworker, I offer an embodied, experiential approach that therapy can't, and many clients combine the two.

Do you offer Couples sex coaching?

3

Yes. Couples sessions focus on communication, bridging different desires, deepening intimacy through Tantra, improving touch skills, and exploring kink and power exchange consciously.

DOes somatic Sex coaching involve touch?

4

Only if you want it. Touch is always one-way, from practitioner to client, offered only at your request, and you can change your mind at any time. Many sessions involve no touch at all.

In-person sessions take place in my Toronto studio near Broadview and Danforth. Online sessions are also available for individuals and couples anywhere.
